Now I Lay Me down To Sleep

by Sheep   Jan 12, 2009

Now I lay me down to sleep
I cry the tears I've yet to weep
In morning light I've yet to wake
To find the path of lovers take

Now I lay, I'm just a heap
Theres nothing left for me to keep
And tho I may be out of fight
Don't wake me in the dawning light

Here I lay, my hole to deep
The one way out, a ledge to steep
Thy angels left me in the night
And I cant find safe morning light

As I lay I slowly creep
Across the floors I gently sweep
As I watch them through the night
To never see their blessed sight

Now I lay, I spring to leap
Through the fields of mindless sheep
In guiding me their's no delight
I've fallen into midnight light

So now I lay me down to sleep
Looking through nights unknown deep
Guide me through the starry night
And keep me from the sunshines fright

*a note: thanks to the original prayer, now i lay me down to sleep. this is sort of a take off on that...
