Shadows like statues

by Landi Cordier   Feb 5, 2009

I remember we walked past
In the park,
My body moved forward
But my heart -
In shadow, statue cast

Laying your head
On my transparent shoulder still,
I rest my arms
round your dark silhouette waist

Our feet dragged us forward,
Further apart,
But our shadows remain
Iron cast

There our shadows
A while will remain
Until the morrows break of day,
We spend the night in statue cast,
Our hearts together in the shadows,
Silhouetted dark.
