Once Upon A Time...

by Courtney   Mar 19, 2009

She sat in her chair
Just beeming
From the gold of her hair
To the grin in her stare

Engaged to marry
At only nineteen
Happy she was, very
Yet her future ahead seemed scary

She smiled and she cried
And all in between
She couldn't decide
If she wanted to be a bride

Her groom to be
How lovely
He was for she
That he felt her to be his destiny

But she couldn't leave
Her family
That she wore on her sleeve
And so she would grieve

A decision to be made
Sooner or later
To remain a maid
Or let her love fade

Once upon a time
Was now reality
As the wedding bells chime
This was her prime

Her mind is set
To
A husband she will beget
And the home she must now forget

Ahead, her future lays
As a mystery
To wonder through the maze
And learn the married ways

Her fears put aside
With no
Tears to hide
For they have dried

She will find her way
She knows
How the Fairy Tale Story will play
With trials her true love will slay

As she puts on her gown
For the day
And stands before the isle to walk down
There at the end is her prince, waiting with her crown
