Band-Aids

by Broke&Lost   Apr 8, 2009

People always want to know
why I always carry band-aids
But it isn't like me to ever show
what lies within the wrapper's shades

The tiny razor blades nestled there
all coated with my fading blood
If people really knew it'd scare
put a fear in them their emotions would flood

Because those same people
who laugh and pretend it's all fine
With bullshit they are to full
to see a person whose light doesn't shine

They jsut see a fake smile
plastered on a pale face
One guarded all the while
as they sit and listen in place

A shell so broken and empty
that a tiny little push would break
A million little pieces that no one will see
because those are the scars that I make

The ones that stay hidden beneath lies
All finely coated with my words
I just never realized you could see in my eyes
and tell your words cut like a dozen little swords

Amazing. From every poem that I have read of yours thus far, this one is by far the most amazing. I love it. And I connect with it as well.
If you need anyone to talk to, though you don't know me, I'm here if you need a friend.
10/10 Keep up the amazing work.
