My Porcelain Mask (English Sonnet)

by Hey Brittknee   Jun 24, 2009

This porcelain mask lies upon my face
Beneath the sun drenched ashen stars of night
The sky above full of infinite space
With more than five million glistening lights

I can hide behind this mask no longer
The porcelain cracks will show its wearing
The pieces were strong, but I was stronger
And it seems as though the stars are staring

My feelings have always been a secret
Masked away in a box with lock and key
And people wonder how I could keep it
Its not hard to hide what people don't see

But tonight the stars will unmask it all
And the porcelain will crack as it falls
