Unnamed

by flutterflies   Jul 14, 2009

The room is dark,
You stumble inside,
In the distance a dog barks,
The lights don't work,
The window is broken,
A cool draft drifts in,
Your fears unspoken,
To voice them,
Would be awful,
Just being here is wrong,
Almost unlawful,
You're frightened,
Your heart beats fast,
Something is wrong here,
Will you find her at last?
You can't see,
There's no light at all,
Step carefully,
Wouldn't want to fall,
Something bumps your foot,
You lean down,
Here she lies,
You start to frown,
She's cold as ice,
Her skin gone white,
Staring blankly,
She died in the night.
