Battle Test

by InvisiblyHeartless   Jul 15, 2009

Tingling hairs rising to stand an attack
Not much left of her heart turn black
Self-dissolved wishes, crying empty pleas
A beat inside with a request to cease

Desperation like electricity on her fingertips
Last minute thoughts pass, the vision flips
The enchanting black twists into swirls of white
Lungs compressing, skin pulling wishfully tight

A shade of silk wraps her guilty to
Holding the pieces, mending to do
Thumping grows with each request
After all, lonely love's great test
