Something

In the nighttime we find lightening
electricity we see that cannot
be seen in the summer heat
passion waiting to explode in
our minds and hearts and bodies
parts of us we don't expose we
seek to expose but don't want
to disclose the positions we aren't
sure we're taking to make decisions
we aren't capable of making to
live the life we've been avoiding
in fear of what lies in front
and is left behind us on the paths
and lines we've intertwined interspersed
with the lines drawn from other
hands ones we couldn't have planned
the ones that surprise and delight us inspire and
rewire the paths we laid
so patient and cautiously constructed
in the bright sunlight when every-
thing seemed at once more clear
and more blinding we keep reminding
ourselves that we did what was right
but in the depths of moonlight
we find cracks not exposed and
other feelings come unclothed and
our minds try to remind us
but our bodies betray the thoughts
that bind us and our hearts fade
away unsure and unaware of the
choices our minds and our bodies
have decided while we were chasing
the displacing starlit skies of fate.
