If You Had Been Here

by The Lady of Shalott   Oct 30, 2009

The pain has returned
My soul is on fire
My heart didn't do this to me
It just called Love a liar

Deeper I fall
I call out your name
But you do not hear
And my cries are in vain

I'm being engulfed
By the hell in which I reside
And as I swallow my fate
I'm being washed away by the tide

My life begins to fade
And I disappear.
I wonder would this have happened,
if you had been here?
