Concealed Madness.

Concealed Madness.

Somewhere over the rainbow --

Unbelievable
how they twist reality,
allowing us to succumb
into this fictitious mind frame.

Breathtaking,
that simple phrase assumed
for the sake of concealment;
forever reminding these humans
of the illusion we cannot live in.

Somewhere over the rainbow --

Astounding
how in this world
trouble really does melt
like lemon drops as we try
to rid of reality with our drugs.

Crazy
how I see no pot o' gold or
leprechauns dancing by
my feet as I beg to escape
this madness.

I decided to do both...

Gosh did I love reading this. I think my favorite part was how you start each oart with a different word. I really enjoyed that. I alos like that you repeated "somewhere over the rainbow" that gave the poem a sense of hope. I entered this contest too but I can honestly say you did a brillant job here. You took an almost cliche saying and made it your own and that's hard to do. Beautiful work dear. :) Nik
