DRIP! DRIp! DRip! Drip!

by Sylvia   Jan 17, 2010

Maddening sound saturated with fright,
shattering silence of the night.
Wet, sticky droplets, a vivid red display
life's nectar, blood, draining away.

Sucked drop by drop,
unrelenting vicious vampire won't stop.
With fangs plunged deep into my soul,
an evil spirit in control.

Suffocating, stifling,
freedom fleeting, trifling.
Crushing courage, leaving debris,
escape eluding me.

Veins, arteries plundered,
a living hell thundered,
relinquish death's grip,
begin anew, compose a different manuscript.

DRIP! DRIp! DRip! Drip!

At first I had to laugh a little, because you are such a kind lady, ha ha..how could you possible write something scary? But as I read it, I felt something very deep in it, as if you were saying something dark and evil has got you under it's spell.
But the poem is not really frightening, it is a little like the Alfred Hitchock movies made me feel..uneasy.

Good job on this, I would like to see you write a horror poem for children one day:)

    God bless,
