Angel

by Aurora Dubnyk   Jul 16, 2011

The water clear and still, fluid but like a mirror
Changing, giving blood to life, I see I see!
I can feel myself morph into a saint in its never ending, moving folds
It pools, swims around me, light, free and comforting!
But it does not in-still emotion only floats it outwards, compassion and love
Sympathy, comfort, empathy, all those emotions! The ones that calm and soothe
Like the ocean never ceases its existence, evolution and continuous
The taste of bitterness washes away with the pulse of lifeblood
Pouring from the heaves and the earth until I am pure
Blue, blue, blue my heart breaths a sigh in its cove of calm
These bones build and hold my being together
That coolness arcs through and through, that of earths breath, and its blood
Of sand in chaos then smoothed by the lapping waves
A angel gliding over the sun bathed mirror to reflect its ardor
Angel! Come prepare me! Take my compassion, my love, my entire devotional self
Raise it upwards with wings not owned by mortals, only known to the heavenly creatures!
Take me! Wash me! Rebirth me!
I desire that acceptance away from hates poison
Unwavering by the temptation to jealously!
Heart! Flourish and grow to light!
Raise me on swift white wings!
As I reflect my light to seal my hate!
I will sing with beauty, and defend from persuasion!
Love as my voice, empathy as my body, the blessing at my core
I will succeed in my mission, bathing your heart in devotion

  • Reading phoenix and then this one it is like if someone decided to take two different paths from the same event... one clinging to the innocence of life and one desiring complete and utter revenge upon its occurrence. I could be wrong but either way. Both poems are completely awsome. Great work!
