Person Of Heart

People come into your life
You don't know right away
Why they are meant to be there
How they serve you in a way

By some sort of purpose
Or help you figure out
Teach you a lesson
Who you are without a doubt

In a matter of a minute or two
They crush you like your no one
The hour of discovery
The feeling of the act they done

More than a day
One's lifetime to forget
The troubling inside
Hurt with regret

The separation of the illusion
Or just knowing whats real
Person of heart doesn't know
How to not care or feel

Trying to block off
The flow within that is them
Can't be shut off at all
Guess they are condemned

To spend time in despair
With much unplanned pain
Their trust
Totally down the drain

Still doesn't prevent them
For people of heart can only be
Caring and loving like they are
Exactly what God intended of me

    I absolutely agree with Innocent Fairy, this is a really well written poem, no doubt. The message you convey is really powerful and I enjoyed reading this poem without exception; it flowed smoothly and the rhymes didn't feel forced or cliche. This is definately a well written poem.
