I agree with emily that this poem is really sad and the struggle with OCD must be really annoying as it is so demanding and time consuming.

I would like to thank you for writting this and for letting us into your world. As I know from experiance it can be hard to write about a mental illness

You never fail to present me with pieces that tear my heart. I admire you for your tenderness in words and attitudes.

    WOW, LIZ, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.

Before, your 'The number Six' blew me away, and now this....

I like everything, but it was the end that made me get sucked into OCD which I know about.

I love how you say that you repeat your prayers six times, (using 6-OCD) which means that your obsession to pray is just compulsive, from your brain, not from deep within.

This is really worth a win!

What a heartbreaking write that really brings awareness to a disease which I think most of us suffer from in different forms. Masterful job with this write and very worthy of a win. Unfortunately I can't nominate now because its the weekend, hopefully it will be available tomorrow.
    Awesome Job.

I love the take on the title "The number six", seeing it reversed shows how things can change but still be the same.

I love this piece too, and knowing it's personal makes it all the more amazing.

    Does it count
    as abuse
    if it is done
    by your own
    hands?
    ^^^^^
I love poems that start and end with questions, always leaves me pondering and this wanted me to keep reading, I wanted to know what abuse you were talking about.

    Will I need
    to be the saviour &
    champion in this
    tragic story
    I call my life.
    ^^^^^^^
The use of saviour and champion worked well, I'd only say to remove the &, and use the words "and" instead to neaten this up, but a great stanza

    I could dress
    up as a superhero
    and then say
    a few prayers
    before I lay into
    myself.
    ^^^^^^^
I love how you say you could dress up and be someone else, someone who saves others but still abuse yourself, still cause yourself distress.

    Though I must
    admit that lately
    my prayers are
    misguided and
    have fallen victim
    to my OCD.
    ^^^^^^
This shows what the abuse was that you mentioned at the beginning, I love the use of misguided, and that your prayers and faith isnt any use.

    So I've stopped
    praying.

    Not because I'm a
    non-believer, on the
    contrary, I do believe.

    But...

    why should my
    prayers be answered
    if I am not praying
    because my heart tells
    me to...

    but because my
    brain does.

    Six times.

    ^^^^^^
I think you ended this poem with truth and emotion, and shows the struggles you face each day with your OCD, How your brain tells you to pray, yet your heart isnt in it anymore, nothing works when you don't feel it...

Lovely poem, sad and emotional, and very personal
but brilliantly written, with awesome flow and wording

    Love always

I came to know about OCD because of your poems, thank you. We don't really pay attention to many things that we don know about. So now I can know how hard it is for those people to live with it. But I have faith that you can overcome it some way or another. It's all in the brain but there most be something that we can do to fool it or make it work.

The title itself is an awesome take on her previous The number six, showing reversal still holds the same meaning, the same thoughts and that we need to deal with the problem instead of hiding it or pushing it away. That sometimes we must use our heart and do what we believe is best, not always what we know is... that our minds play tricks on us. This poem I know is personal to the writer but in reflection is as personal to us as readers. (4)
