Fear the Truth

by TSI25   Aug 16, 2012

The fear of truth in the written word
subtle, prolific and clean.

The illusion, flowing in and through,
piercing, slicing-
wondering
what silent sentries might do with knowledge

which they sought hardily, and readily
and so secretly
so quietly.

Hoping to leap from the edge of their limits,
but stopping a step before the plunge
to cast fearful eyes and troubled sighs
at the rocky depths below.

And will they jump?
Will wings unfold beneath their dreamy minds
with starry eyes, and fly them to a silver moon
hung in blackest night.

Or will they fall,
know the meaning of truth, rejoice
but wish for a softer landing, then end
broken upon the stone below?

Or will they turn their hopeless heads,
retrace their hapless steps,
along a helpless path of peace,
fearing the truth in the written word.

Knowing the truth, is living right. Nothing can stand, outside the truth.

  • I love the beginning of this piece, but I feel towards the middle it begins to become cluttered (too many words). I don't know how it could be changed and I don't really think it should, but to me it just seems cluttered. I don't know.

Also, I think a little more punctuation is needed in some parts.. a comma here and there.

    Other, than that...

    FANTASTIC JOB!

Again, the imagery was clear and, surprisingly, it flowed really well.
Your choice and arrangement of words continue to astound me.

    Excellent. 5/5
