I hold him in my heart

Most people dream of angels,
I've held one in my arms.
Most people hold there babies.
I hold mine in my heart.

I asked god for a child,
He gave me one with wings.
I asked him to help me,
He showed me many things.

God showed me how to love a baby,
I never got to have,
He gave me many lessons,
And stopped me getting mad.

Some say it is to painful,
To remember such things.
But he's to precious to forget,
Just cause he has wings.

God sent him here to touch my heart,
Because he could not reach,
He showed me strength and courage,
My baby came to teach.

And while many mothers hug there babies,
Mine had to go back home.
While mothers watch there babies sleep,
I'm made to sit alone.

At night when I get lonely,
I look up to the stars.
I think of lovely baby things,
It often hurts my heart.

My heart it is not broken,
Although hurting,
It still beats.
My heart it goes on beating,
And that is where my baby sleeps.

I have a little baby,
And for now we are apart.
But even when I go to sleep,
I still hold him in my heart.

    All people deal with things differently but I think most people simply want a little peace of mind and above all, happiness .

    Rebecca, its a huge loss and u r write people say forget such things coz they hurt.
    Bt one cant forget, one who lose can only understand its value.
    Bt its gud dat u find a way thru uor poems.
    Coz Wen we express wat we feel inside, its mentaly and physicaly gives us strength..

    Rebecca,

    it is so inspiring to read how you have given this a place in your heart and mind. Sometimes the saddest things happen and still, when you are made out of the right material, you know how to change that into something good and meaningful. A very good poem, sweetheart. I just know that when the time comes for you to have an angel with the ability to stay, you will love it with all your heart:)

    Beautifully written oh so sad Bec.

    Look again at your there/their and to/too

    Although you don't hold him now someday you will. I believe this with all my heart. Pain like this never leaves completely it just lessens.
