This is a beautiful poem, and I think you should share this with your friend so that he'll know just how special he is to you. I think that when you care about someone, you should say it and show it, because you never know what tomorrow will bring.

I think you could improve your poem for your friend by adding in imagery and metaphors. These poetic devices lead one to connect with writing more -- it is less simplistic and more in depth for a relationship, if you understand my idea.
I think you can tell how much you care for your friend and its sweet that you are writing this for him. Just break all boundaries and don't be afraid to really show how you feel -- simplicity can be alright, but depth always feels more personal.

Aside from a few grammatical errors, and my other notes, I think this is quite sweet.
