Innocence and Ignorance

by Rissa Moe   Jul 17, 2013

Affection needed mistakenly given
Willingly searching for more

Freely dispensed,
compassion conveyed
Not even knowing manipulation that's played

Her heart on her sleeve,
attention received
Ignorance to blame

Thoughts now maturing
True being altered, enduring
The process of growing up

Now limited innocence
She repents for forgiveness
Awareness now awakened
Knowledge given is purity taken

Jumping for the enlightenment and whys,
My inner child dies, Thinking she can fly.
