Another You

by Cody B   Oct 25, 2013

I remember the first text I sent you.
The uncontrollable blush, the nervousness -
mixed with joy as each letter was pressed.

I remember the biggest smile on my face,
The moment you replied with yes.

You pulled me out,
when I felt like I was buried alive -
You showed me how to live again.

I showed you darkness, though somehow,
you always found the light within -
& you forgave me so many times,
but could not change my heart of sin.

I know that I love you,
nothing will replace you now,
that's the price I'll pay.

I'm going through memories,
of good and bad, alone agkain,
you're so far away.

Why do hurt people, hurt people?
It's so hard to understand.

We quoted our love,
"Forever isn't long enough".
It feels like just a dream,
now no longer a master plan.

I'm not looking for no answers,
they are my haunting past.
I spent all my promises,
with them I paved a wicked path.

I'm aimlessly ranting,
they are just words,
and words can't heal -
what I've put you through.

What hurts me the most,
is no matter what,
I'll Never Find Another You.

**********
It's been a very long time,
go easy on me, and welcome me back?! :)
