Parents Grow Too

by Crimsonxheart   Jan 15, 2015

When I was little my daddy told me
I'd be okay
that he would always be there to protect me
through scary night and darkest day

The years passed too quick
before I even knew
that while I was growing up
daddy was growing too
So I pray each morning
give us one mroe day
and every time that we wake
I send up a little thanks

I used to watch my mama smile
She danced around with me
She said I was her little girl
and that I would always be

The years passed too quick
before I even knew
that while I was growing up
mama was growing too

So treasure your moments
They're more precious than any gold
make sure that you hold on to them
while they're still here to hold

I find myself looking back more often than I'd like to say
reminiscing on each and every single special day
there's no way to go back
not even if you try
so make sure to make all the memories you can
before you have to say goodbye

The years passed
oh so quick
I didn't even know
that when you're living in the day
feels like time is going slow

And when you're grown
out of the house
you'll beg for one day more
so make sure to make the time you have
count just a little more

Make sure to make great memories
before you can't make anymore
