Please Forgive Me For These Flowers

by Skyler   Jan 16, 2016

Although I searched for hours
For a pretty, perfect hue
Please forgive me for these flowers
Because they pale compared to you

By day I walked through flower shops
By night through fragrant, moonlit fields
So long in search of vibrant crops
In colors only Heaven yields

It seems I'm running out of time
And over me, my mission towers
No blooming blossom has your shine
So please forgive me for these flowers

No Iris ever suits your eyes
No reddest Rose, your blushing grin
Only sunlit, sea-side skies
Have ever matched the hues therein

Oh, would that I could paint the tone
Of wond'rous Heaven's humbling power
But it seems the shades are yours alone
So please forgive me for these flowers

I can't believe I'm the first to like this one...wow...first of all, the title in itself is sweet! You have a gift of flawless rhyming...as again this flowed so well. Loved this.
