Never

by Skyler   Feb 13, 2016

I don't think of kissing, much
Although you might not think it true
And never was I missing much
Until I thought of kissing you

I don't dwell on dancing much
Except alone, I do digress
The thought, I never fancied much
Until I saw your dancing dress

I never dote on coloration,
Except to turn some pleasant phrase
But now I'm here in consternation
Of verdant pleasure in your gaze

I'm not a fan of holding hands
I'd like to keep mine free to wield
So if you'd help me understand
Why your hand has so much appeal

Necks and wrists and blushing cheeks
I never saw the romance there
And now I cannot help but seek
To kiss you on your everywhere

I never thought of kissing much
Until lately, that was true
But now I'm longing for the touch
Of no one in the world but you

A beautiful poem, Skyler, in sentiment and in rhyme. Seamless stuff that was a pleasure to read.

    The things love does, huh?

Take care and all the best

Skyler, how this has been missed I will never know because it is one of the most beautifully flowing, sincerest and well, unforced rhymed pieces I have read in some time. I feel reading it aloud gives that songy feel to it which to me makes for a great poem and I love rhymed poetry.
