A True Friend

by Shelley Williams   Jun 27, 2016

A friend is a friend, no matter how sass,
words that will grab you, the wind that will pass.
A hugger that hugs near the sassafras tree
the wonders of kindness, in thirties of three.

A sight to behold in the darkness of skies,
the thunder may crash, tears fall from sad eyes.
forgiveness a journey, uphill most the way
understand with your heart, what a no doer can say.

The care that you carry is put to good use
if friendly is a friend despite the word abuse,
Patience is tender, true friends are unique
unconditional to words the speaker may speak.
