Im so excited I cant stand it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been waiting so long for a new poem from you,
I feel like I just won the lottery!!! :-)
This poem is rich with imagery....
I love it!!!!
Happy to see this peice on the front page.
I love this and it's so you - I can easily picture you on your piece of land in Australia, mulling over the start of a new day and breathing it all in.
Nicko...it's so nice to see a poem from you after so long and...it's one that I can relate so very well to!
Those pesky kookaburras wake me every morning but...I wouldn't have it any other way :)
Above, suns sweet whisper of dawn,
reaches through branch and leaf.
Freckling the ground like random patchwork,
still damp from darkness’s nightly kiss
Love this image but..should suns be sun's?
A whistle awakes my reverence,
My soot blackened kettle calls out.
Tea bag in hand.
An early morning cuppa for a sentimental fool.
What can be better than that ….
Adore this stanza...so typical Australian!
Thanks Hellon appreciate your comments and yes suns should be sun's... my crap gramma at work ha
Simply beautiful. I could close my eyes and picture it perfectly. Mission accomplished!
Your imagery is first class fella, really this is an awesome write - the first i've read from you...i'll be back hahahahaBen

I was reading this this morning and it made me laugh because i can see i've already been here twice hahahaha awesome write Nicko!
Ha thanks Ben pleased to see you back
I always enjoy poems about the typical things people do in life, so raw that I can relate and the beauty of the poem etches something in the heart. Great piece.
