Sometimes We Say More By Saying Nothing At All

by Taylor   Mar 21, 2017

Some say silence is golden,
But its like drowning in slow motion
With overwhelming waves of the unknown
piercing you down to your bones

There is a paralyzing sense of manipulation
Combined with expectations
Heavy in the heart and soul
Collapsing and crumbling under control

Silence is blindness
Leaving a devastating feeling to remind us
The less words spoken, the less one knows
Exposing emotions, forcing them to show

Guilt and Worry start at the toes
slowing making their way up as they grow
Meeting with apprehension and dread
Only to meet at the hips feeling mislead

Silence is clockworks
Re-living every moment, becoming immersed
Anticipation leaving a deep-seated feeling
consuming the gut, searching for meaning

Flooding your chest with anxiety
Taking over the desire for sobriety
Causing you to question resolution
Making it impossible to reach conclusions

I say silence is Realization
The head finally organizing all of the information
leaving one unafraid to take that fall
Sometimes we say more by saying nothing at all
