The Urge to Write

The Urge to Write

The dial reads later than it should
Whisky half full
Prayers read to my kids
The stress of the wife, done
Alone
The gentle current of the AC
Meets me in my office
Sitting in a ripped leather chair
An old worked in glove
Envelopes my lower body
Its time.

Beautiful piece! There is simply no stopping it, yes. You drew a great picture of a typical scene in a poet's life. 'It's time.' This last line made me really smile inside. Really great one.

When you get that urge to write, there's simply no stopping it, is there?
