Far Away Places

My mind wonders to far away places
but I'm still in this room

I reach out with my hand
but I have nothing to touch

I talk but mostly to myself
Is it a sign of madness?
or just loneliness?

I write but can't express the words
of how it is I'm feeling

Looking out at the world
I'm afraid to step outside

So once again I step back into my mind
and travel to far away places
