He has seen the cracks
He has felt the edges that have smoothed with time
And felt the jagged spots that
Have yet to weather
But he remains, he remains
And does not waiver

He has seen the sunshine
The endless spirit that continues on
Despite life's turmoil and trouble
And when the storm rolls in and the light turns dim
He remains, he remains

He has seen life gone spastic
With more work than hours in a day
His arms stay strong
Picking up what I can no longer carry
And still he remains, he remains
And does not tire

He has seen the good
As good as it can be
He has seen the bad as life can often bring
And even the misfortune so much out of one's control
Yet he remains, he remains
And his love is my stronghold

When the world weighs me down
And doubt begins to creep in
How quickly does it disappear
Because after all
