Unknown Species

There once was a time when the world was at peace.
There was no violence, no hatred, nor was there any disease.
Now the world has been over taken.
Unknown species invading.

Scientist said they were coming.
But they had no idea the planet would be destroyed.
Species taking over their hosts.
Treating the human race like toys.

They watched as they set our home aflame.
You may ask, "Well, what did they have to gain?"

But, they survived off of our dying souls.
Or so we thought, but is that not how it goes?

They took us as hostages.
Using our bodies as their own.
Taking what was not theirs at our costage.
Destroying what never belonged to them on their own.
