Queen

by Dominesha Jackson   Jan 14, 2019

I am not petite like a model
I am not cute like a suburban sweet
I am the Queen where people bow down to my feet
I am not mean
Nor am I shallow
I am the girl who everyone like to brag on
I am not fat
Nor am I your piece of meat
I am determined and eager
People say I am thick and I tell them I am not
Just because my hips are round and curvy
That does not make me yours
Just because my tummy is not flat that does not make me fat
Just because my smile is so bright that does not make me yours
I am the Queen and if there's trouble I’m where they lean
My words hold power
My hands hold value
My hips may sway
My thighs may be big
But I am not yours
I’m the Queen and the Queen I shall be
I may cry but these tears are not for you
They say I walk like I own the place and that’s because I do
I do not dress to impress
Because these boys still fall down to their knees
I walk the halls alone and full of pride because
I am the Queen and the Queen I shall be
I don’t need a king
I run the world alone with no hands to hold
But that does not make me selfish and mean
So I am the Queen and the Queen I shall be.
