Where the Innocence Dies

by stormingdance (Lessa)   May 4, 2019

Their blood, it stains the sky
Yet you turn a blind eye
And you ignore their cries

How's anyone to fly
Spread their wings to a sky
In a world full of lies

Where they all vilify
Without a cause or why
Where the innocence dies

You talk out your mouth sly
With anecdotes so wry
Your narrative of lies

Seek to make the world dry
Claiming to crucify
Pretend to horrify

Where they all vilify
Without a cause or why
Where the innocence dies

Attempts to justify
They choose to stultify
A mockery of lies

We try to sanctify
What's left to dignify
But we cannot deny

Where they all vilify
Without a cause or why
Where the innocence dies
