We All Write These Poems
For Some Kind Of Escape
We Rewind Memories Constantly
Pressing Pause On The Tape

Whether Were A Rape Victim
Who Lost It All One Night
Haunted By Memories Every Day
As Dreams Fade From Sight

Or Were A Broken Hearted Teenager
Who Lost The Love Of their Life
Writing Poems Of How it Was
Rhyming About Making Her Your Wife

Maybe Your A Victim To Abuse
Getting Beaten Every Single Day
What Did You Ever Do To Your father
And Why Does Your Mum Say Its OK

Maybe Your Pregnant At Only 15
And In A Few Months Your Due
The Father Is No Where To Be Seen
And You've Started A Family Fude

Or Your Addicted To Self Harm
You Cut And Cut All The Time
Then Take Your Pen to Paper
And Put It Into A Rhyme

Or Your A Very Lonely person
With Really No Friends At All
Your Parents Live Their Own Lives
And You Have No One To Call

Or Maybe Your the Idea Of Perfection
But Thats Just What People Want You To Be
Putting This Smile On Like Makeup
But All The Time You Just Wanna Be Free

Or Maybe Your The Loser At School
getting Bullied Every Day
The Teachers Ignore It All
And Your Parents Walk Away

Or Maybe You've Got So Many Troubles
That You Just Cant Get Out
No Matter How Many times You've Screamed
Or All The Times You've Tried To Shout

Maybe Your Just So Far Lost
That You Will Never Be Able To Escape
So Then You put The Pen To Paper
And Rewind The Past Memories On Tape....
