Depth of Illusion

by Jacki   Jan 31, 2005

She danced in beauty,
throughout the night
the impressionable chill of the
starry night;
Her eyes twinkled bright
like a continuous painting of
delicate delight.
Swirled with gold and trimmed
with desire;
and so she nestled under the
slumbering tree
curled up in a ball with
Georgia O'Keeffe.
Waited for sun break to let
the lilies free.
And as her eyes closed feeling the
warmth from the sun; and the hush
of the wind, Picasso painted 'the dream'
and she waited until the moon licked the lake once more.

    I thought it was quite lovely, I loved your imagery and technique of the format. However, I didn't partake in your use of rhyming. Though I did enjoy the piece, alot of the rhym scheme seemed very cliche and overused-such as,"the impressionable chill of the
    starry night;
    Her eyes twinkled bright"
    I thought that was a line much too overused and unoriginal.
    I did though, truly admire the last few lines,
    "And as her eyes closed feeling the
    warmth from the sun; and the hush
    of the wind, Picasso painted 'the dream'
    and she waited until the moon licked the lake once more."
    I just thought those comparisons were spectacular and beautifully written. Especially the last line, I completly adore it.
    overall, Well done

    The rhyming was unqiue, and had a articulate effect on the poem itself. And like all of your poetry, it was beautiful and vivid. Well done.
