Because I know that it get on your nerves.
I’m sorry I used to call you, just to hear your voice,
I’m sorry I didn’t realise how much you meant to me,
I’m sorry for being drunk nearly every time we met.
I’m sorry that you thought I used to you for your car,
I’m sorry I used to ask you to buy me alcohol,
And then acted as though I didn’t care when you said no.
I’m sorry that I almost spewed on your shoe,
I’m sorry I kissed you after that.
I’m sorry I got with your best friend, as an act of revenge.
I’m sorry I lost my virginity to him too.
I’m sorry I used to write poems about you,
That said exactly how I felt, because I couldn’t tell you to your face.
I’m sorry I craved your kiss every time you weren’t near me,
I’m sorry you were my only thought every minute of the day.
I’m sorry you never knew how deeply in love with you I was…
I’m sorry you used to receive drunken phones calls in the early hours of the morning.
I’m sorry you saw me with other guys,
But those were the times when you didn’t want me…
I’m sorry that when we met I was still a virgin,
And was determined to stay that way til I found the ‘right’ person…
I’m sorry that halfway through what we had, I decided I wanted that person to be you.
I’m sorry I caused conflict between you and Alan…
But Alan told me he liked me, something you had never done.
I’m sorry I made you walk all the way home that night,
I’m sorry for getting so drunk that you had to come save me in the first place.
I’m sorry for looking through Tiana’s window every five seconds,
In hope that I might catch a glimpse of you…

I had nothing intelligent to say…
