Blue Rose

by Concealing Words   Jun 13, 2005

Delicate yet strong
Nothing of its kind
Something so beautiful
Is always too hard to find

The closest attempt to make it real
Had everything it should
But reality told that something undeserving
Was trying to be what it never could

Never will it satisfy
This tainted being will not last
Needs to be pure in the future
With an unaltered past

There is only one true kind
So sacred and rare
Many have tried to take the place
But not one could compare

Its form is indescribable
Only its presence can exist
Its beauty can only be held in your mind
Never clenched inside your fist

Many have attempted to copy
But their ingredients were not right
A plain white rose may only look the part
When its petals are kissed by the moonlight

The want for it is so strong
And yet there is nothing to go around
In times of desperate satisfaction
A second source has to be found

Secretly searching
Need to see it in full bloom
Understanding it will never happen
Its lure will begin to consume

As I silently look for it
It always wilts before it grows
Your love, my father
Is my blue rose
