What You've Done

by Briana   Mar 29, 2006

Soft, demented whispers from you
Devour my futile soul
Flashes of hurt and loneliness
Play on but remain untold

Swiftly you left my shattered life
As quickly as you had come
Yet your presence lingers deep inside
Along with battles not yet won

Reaching, searching, for something
That was never there
Holding on to a untouchable hope
Fighting dark despair

Veins pulsing with fear
Blood rushing down
As all of my thoughts
Just seem to drown

Flesh seems to rot away
My soul is burning with emotion
Mixed up within, I can't even distinguish
These feelings that won't be revealed

Won't this disappear, fade, cease to exist?
Or will I forever remain in this state?
Someday this will end, I mustn't continue
Living my life this way

I dream of a day
Where my thoughts aren't haunted by you
I await the time
That your images will be removed

I'm waiting, wishing, anticipating
That I will be set free
From these burdens I have been facing
And all the pain this has caused me
