Songs that got me through

Forget all I used to tell.
All I said was all to dwell,
on something I needed to seek to find,
something to replace this empty heart and mind.
A heart baring thoughts that cant replace,
an empty smile upon my face.
Now I realize after all this time,
I've had what I've wanted all along.
Its those simple songs that got me through.
Or else I'd be empty without knowing what to do.
The songs that made me jump on my bed,
or the times I'd lay down on it and dream instead.
I've had what I've wanted all along.
On that simple melody, of a simple song.
It sang to me...

    Wow. Ive never heard anyone write a poem about songs that go them through the hard times, but its true and we give it no recognition. You have a brilliant mind for meter, it really helps your rhymes seem flawless and efortless which is ultimatly the way it should be. Good job, keep it up!
