A walk on the beach

by nicole   Apr 20, 2006

A star lit night
we walk on the beach
squishing our toes in the sand
you look at me
you slowly take my hand
the look in your eyes I don't even pretend to understand

All of the stories Ive heard since I was
very small don't explain this feeling well enough at all

the charming prince always got on his knee told the princess he loved her and the words please marry me

My stomach is filled with butterfly's
really quite to my surprise
please explain the look in your eyes this way you stare at me

that makes me feel so special
and yet so naive and unwise
so many others you could have had
why on me did you decide?

why do you say I drive you mad?
why do you say you love me?
why when you look at me is that enchanting look fixed in your eyes?
even though your so much above me

I posses nothing special
I haven't from the start
even though I love you
from the bottom of my heart

I gaze at you in the darkness
your beautiful dazzling eyes
your hair your skin
but what I love about you most is what you have within

once again you look at me
you utter words but they fall past
my recollection all that I can see or hear is the thought of you in my timeless collection

A collection put upon my shelf you'll be the first installment and the last
please love me forever don't ever place me in your past

He placed his hand on my cheek
cool soft and calm he told me I was a little cold & offered me his arms

I retreated to the depths
of his welcome grasp
we stayed on that beach together much the sunrise past

the whole time we stayed there
his eyes never once did I neglect
not until a moment that I will never forget

he turned me around
the sun for the second time about to set
he told me he'd love me forever the most amazing woman he'd ever met

he asked me if Id marry him
if I would love him till I die
I was so chocked up with tears I couldn't give my reply

he looked at me for a long while then quietly took my hand
the first time he held his lips to mine I still don't understand
