The Lonely Cabbage

by Navy Blue Heart   Jun 1, 2006

There was once a lonely cabbage,
As lonely as can be,
Because he had no little friends
Unlike you and me!

So off he went to find him some
But no friends could he find
And was just about to give up hope
When something changed his mind.

He saw a girl sat on a bench
And said 'hi' right there and then,
The little girl returned his smile
And said her name was Jen.

They sat and chatted for a bit
Then she asked him round for tea
So of course our little cabbage
Accepted instantly.

But oh alack! For had he known
Of young Jen's cruel intention,
He never would have gone with her.
If he'd only had abstention!

For Jenny boiled him in a pot
And ate him for her dinner
So that now our little cabbage
Is settled deep within 'er!

You see he didn't realise
That his young life was in danger
So the moral of the story is
Don't go off with strangers!

This is a totally random poem, I know! I wrote it for my friend when she was seriously ill in hospital to cheer her up; she had/has a bit of a cabbage fettish!

That was so simple, it was kind of cute. Great job, not a lot of people can make a poem flow like that. The poor little cabbage eh.. hehe.
