Who's That Girl?

by iheartu   Jul 15, 2006

Who is that girl?
Does anyone know?
Is there anyone out there who
REALLY knows who she is?
Is there anyone out there who
ACTUALLY understands how she feels?
It seems that everyone around her
Falls for her fake smiles.
The false laughs
And the feelings she swears
She doesn't have.

What these people have come to know
Is a lie.
That girl is trapped in a world
Of conformity, confusion and complication.
A girl once full of happiness
Fun
And adventure
Is now nothing more than a ball of clay.
Those around her are moulding her
Into something they want her to be.

Day after day, she changes
According to who is doing the moulding.
Moods change, appearances change, feelings change.
Those dreams she once had are now
Lost forever,
Discarded along with the week's garbage.

But one day, the moulding will stop.
There is only so far the clay can be stretched.
And then what?
What will become of her?
Will she rediscover the dreams she once lost?
Or will she continue to live life as an empty shell?
A person so changed by society,
She's no longer a person at all.
