Just ask

by libby   Oct 3, 2006

Cover me in dirt, baby
and I'll be your nightmare
your spear wielding warrior
your cutthroat princess
your snarling little child who will
never miss a chance to snap at your skin...
But come here, I'll let you in
when the hound howl night gets too much for you
when you can't breathe the taunting thick air
when the ground dries out and the bodies of earthworms
rise up and tie your feet together
when you fall down at my doorstep and I
show you inside
it's safe.
This reckless tornado
this ruthless predator
this bloodstained work of art
is yours, just yours...
because you ask.
