Cycle

by beav   Jan 15, 2007

Up above the earth
looking down on life.
shadows of leaves dance
on a concrete slab.
a spider slowly slides down his web.
a dragonfly searches for prey.
two lovers kiss.
friends laugh.
the sun's heat on my back.
the wind blowing just enough
to keep me cool.
the dragons hunger is satisfied.
the cycle continues.
still, i sit and just watch.
look.
listen.
an ant crawls dizzily
along the pavement.
the clouds hide the sun.
the shadows are gone.
but still, the leaves dance.
the spider creates
a work of art.
the dragon flys away.
the cycle continues.
two lovers kiss.
friends laugh.
and the wind blows
just enough to keep me cool.
