Love is.

At least once in our lives,
We all dream about love.
Just for one moment,
It'll be all we're thinking of.

What does it feel like?
Some only know the pain.
Others know the better side,
Like kissing in the rain.

Whether we're just wondering,
Or it's something we want to feel.
I know I find myself questioning,
If love is truly real.

There are others just like me,
And some that only fantasize.
For some people, love lasts long,
While for others, it always dies.

At times, we think we've found love,
Only to have everything fall.
We give it our everything,
Sometimes only to lose it all.

It hits us with a metal bar,
Some get back up, and some don't.
Few think they can love again,
And some simply won't.

We get scared; we're afraid.
We don't wanna give it another chance.
I, for example,
Won't give love another glance.

But what I've apprehended now,
Is that no matter how much we don't believe.
Love will always be there,
And it will never leave.

Some say it doesn't exist;
And I for one, believe it's just a word.
That the feeling is all bull crap,
And that the idea is just absurd.

Periodically, love is overwhelming,
And it's something we just can't handle.
It seems to burn out at times most needed,
Like the light of a candle.

Or maybe we injure someone else,
Just to save ourselves from hurt.
Because we're so afraid of going back,
To being treated like dirt.

But when you think you've found love,
You just gotta push away the fears.
Shove away your standards,
Or you'll just end up in tears.

Screw what people tell you,
And don't think -- Just FEEL.
Because if the love is right,
You'll know when it's real.
