My Birthday

by tryinXtoXholdXmyXheadXup   Feb 1, 2007

The guests should be arriving
The house decorated to
But instead the house is empty
Except for me thinking of you

Dont cry mommy
I got a parade today in place of a party
God had great grandma
walk me down the streets of gold

We had planned for you a big party
With friends ad family too
A cake for you to play in
A cake for us to eat

Hard for you to believe mommy
But my birthday cake was huge
I shared with everyone mommy
Theres a piece in the freezer waiting for you

Your new little sister will be here soon
She will have a new room
The one you to would have shared
Your thing put safely in a box
Forever to last like my baby did not

My new little sister is beautiful
She is here with me till you get to have her
Weve laughed and played
Ran and giggled
She will suit you perfect
Daddys little girl

I held you that day in the hospital
Counted your toes and sang you a song
I didnt want to let you go
but the doctors said its time

Mommy I loved your song
and held you tight
God said it was my time to
I tried not to let you go to
But they took me away

You are the love of my life
Never to be forgotten

Mommy I am with you
forever and for always
I am your little girl
That didnt get to stay with you long

In loving memory of Nautica

Awesome poem. Well written except for the first stanza, but you seemed to get the flow flawless after that.
Utterly horrrrrrible thing that you must have gone through, losing someone like that.
