Who you are

by Erika   Feb 21, 2007

Have you ever heard a baby cry
And not be able to do a thing about it?
Or are you of the type, which lets the baby cry?

Have you never seen a broken heart
And not do a thing to sooth it?
Or are you of the type, which lets the poor heart bleed?

Did you ever once walk by a beggar,
And want to give him money?
Or are you of the type, which would watch the poor man starve?

Have you ever walked through the halls of a dog pound,
And adopted the one on death row?
Or are you of the type, which would by a puppy, so as to watch it grow?

Many a time I have been of that type, hence why I stand here today.
I did unto one so they did unto me,
And now I stand crying,
bleeding,
starving,
and unwanted
by those who I care about the most.
