My hero (poem)

by tryinXtoXholdXmyXheadXup   Mar 7, 2007

To the one who took the stand,
Never worried about backing down.
I thank you today,
With this poem I write,
For taking the stand,
And fighting my fight

To the ones who took the time,
Do fight for this land of mine.
I cant thank you enough
My gratitude abounds
You fought for this land,
The children of tomorrow,
And the life you once had.

To those who fought ,
And to those who were slain.
Forever grateful of your pain,
For fighting in the rain,
Wet to the bone and frozen to the core
You took the time to complete your chore

To the one that to the bullet meant for me
Who died a soldier’s death,
I take this time
With my last breath
You saved me my friend soldier and brother,
And I thank you from the depth of my soul
