Battles of the Heart

A helpless heart broken into two
One side fights for me; one side fights for you
I know I cannot win, I've know that all along
Then why, oh why, do I still cry when I hear "our song"
Why do dreams now haunt me when I'm alone in the dark
After all the pain you've caused, you'd think I would be smart
But I can't just erase you from my past
My feelings don't shut off that fast
As the wars rage on inside
I know my feelings cannot hide
Battles of the heart; fighting me and fighting you
But because of love for you I know I have to lose...
