Tears Unshed

by Brook   Jul 1, 2007

And her eyes;
they shone with tears unshed
as she started into another story
beginning with 'he used to'

Memories swim
as she tries to piece together
what he left;
broken and shattered

Recalling all those sweet words
Bittersweet to think about
How she thought he meant them;
words that in time would break her heart.

She wants to move on
Though no one compares to him
How can she give her heart to another
while he still confines it

hes got a new girl
one he whispers sweet nothings too
meaning them even less
With each soft breath

Unreasonable as she knows it is
She still waits for him to return
this pitiful silly girl
broken down& ruined

    Extremely well written! Beautiful flow and lines, this poem has such a strong and fierceful meaning behind it, yet its written in delicate and peaceful words. 5/5.
