She looks so confident and cool
wouldn't think there was ever doubt inside
she's a bright and shining star
happy all of the time
always up with whats cool in fashion and design
she loves her music and friends
but thats not how its always been

she lived in a world of pain
life had gone down the drain
her best friend who she thought would never hurt her caused so much pain
it never again would it be the same
her music was lame
she didn't even try to be happy

she still was a bright and shining star but dim and so far far away
she didn't feel confident or cool
she felt useless and not understood
her mom didn't care about her
mom just loved the best friend
she'd tell her mom she didn't like the best friend
but then the mom just said the friend needs her more
mom would not believe what she told her
about the best friend
that hurt the girl more than any thing else
how could some one not trust
what her own daughter said
it messed up her head

and now maybe

but she almost gave up when life got tough
she almost didn't deal with the stuff
that made her who she is now
if she had chosen to die
everyone would have wondered why
no one saw the pain
that was part of her game

life wasn't pretty and pink

that always made her cri
she lived it everyday
always trying to push it away
