Time Moves...

by N J Thornton   Jul 20, 2007

Time moves in a clockwise direction,
and the tide caresses the shore
in an endless rhythm.

Spring is the embers
that soothes the winter chill,
just as autumn rain refreshes
the sizzling summer.

The universe has it's seasons;
it's inevitable phases,
and it's reason is unknown.
The soul has a memory;
a passion and a loyalty.

When one person finds another
the air is brighter,
life is clearer,
and your skin smiles.

It's like the feeling of a rainbow
joining two hearts.
The sound of laughter
within the world of two.
The gift of tiny hands and feet
-unconditional.
And the knowing that lilies
will blossom above a memory of happiness.

Because you're the reason
my life is filled with music.
When your arms embrace me
with your warmth - I'm safe
and your breath keeps me alive.

Time could reverse
or the ocean stand still.
but even in the storms of life
our flame; our love will never perish.

We will live forever.

It was a great poem, I like the language use in this piece, good job. Flow was good, I like the opening stanza I think it really grabs the reader's attention, good job.

    My favorite lines would be..
    Because you're the reason
my life is filled with music.
^^ I find that really sweet.

I don't even want to interrupt the good feelings this poem delivers with little editing faux pas.....

I think you will be happy to know that this piece shows unequivocally what a true romantic idealist you are...Good for you!...drink plenty of spring water...;-)
